Napoli manager Antonio Conte has indicated that Victor Osimhen may be reintegrated into the starting lineup to address the team's current scoring deficiencies, especially given Romelu Lukaku's underperformance. Following last week's 3-1 Copa Italia loss and subsequent 1-0 Serie A defeat to Lazio, resulting in Atalanta's ascendance to the league's top position, the club is actively seeking solutions.

Lukaku has only scored five goals in 15 matches this season, drawing criticism from supporters and seemingly losing the trust of his manager, who has voiced his dissatisfaction with the team's offensive performance.

"We need to enhance our attacking capabilities; we create chances, but the final touch is lacking. We are addressing this," Conte stated to TMW following their recent loss.

In contrast, Osimhen is thriving at Galatasaray, where he is currently on loan. The Nigerian forward has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 13 matches, playing a crucial role in helping the Istanbul club maintain a six-point lead at the top of the Super Lig with 38 points from 14 games.

Mr. Osimhen's exceptional performance has garnered significant interest from clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, who are reportedly considering exercising his €75 million release clause in January.

However, Napoli's director, Giovanni Manna, has dismissed these rumors. "I have repeatedly stated that we have received no formal approaches. Victor is currently a Napoli player on loan to Galatasaray. While there has been considerable speculation, no concrete developments are underway," Mr. Manna stated.

Osimhen's potential return to Napoli may resolve their scoring challenges, as Conte has identified the need for improved attacking efficiency.

His latest goal was scored from a first-half penalty in Galatasaray's 3-2 victory over Sivasspor, contributing to their bid for a third consecutive league championship.

The Nigerian international has become a key player for the Turkish club since his arrival, significantly impacting their domestic performance through his goalscoring prowess and creative play.
