FIFA, the governing body of world football, has placed a transfer ban on prominent Russian club CSKA Moscow due to the club's failure to settle the remaining transfer fee for Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke.

The ban will remain in effect until mid-2026 unless CSKA Moscow pays SC Heerenveen the outstanding amount of 3 million Euros, which is the balance owed for Ejuke's transfer to Russia.

Ejuke transitioned from Heerenveen to CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2020, with both clubs agreeing on a total transfer fee of 11.3 million Euros. However, a portion of this fee remains unpaid, prompting Heerenveen to escalate the matter to FIFA.

In other news, fellow Super Eagles player Maduka Okoye has disclosed that he has been playing with an injury for the last two months before finally undergoing surgery.

The Udinese goalkeeper shared on his Instagram that he is pleased the surgery is complete and is now eager to return stronger.

“Surgery is done… played the last two months with a broken ligament in my hand,” he posted.

“For now I’ll be supporting the team from the stands, recover and work hard for a comeback in top form.”
