During a recent appearance on the ‘Receipts’ podcast, the 44-year-old single mother stated that she receives frequent negative feedback regarding her clothing, which she attributes to her age.
Savage conveyed her frustration, noting that while other female celebrities in their 40s, such as American singer Beyoncé, are praised for their enduring beauty when wearing revealing outfits, she often experiences age-related criticism from Nigerians for doing the same.
She stated, “I face age-shaming every single day. People question how a woman my age can wear a bikini. I can because I have a body.
“Beyoncé, also in her 40s, wears bikinis, yet Americans do not age-shame her. They celebrate her, saying, for her age, black don’t crack. It’s more appreciated when you maintain your looks as you get older.
“However, Nigerians often comment, suggesting that when my son grows up, he will see this. My son will see me as a powerful and beautiful woman.”
