The Association of Nigeria Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners (PETROAN) has entered into an agreement with Dangote Refinery to facilitate the direct sale of premium motor spirit, aimed at further lowering the product's price.

Joseph Obele, the spokesperson for PETROAN, announced this development in a statement released on Friday. The agreement follows a strategic meeting held on December 2, 2024, where PETROAN’s National President, Bill Gillis-Harry, along with other association members, engaged with Dangote Refinery regarding the direct petrol sales initiative.

PETROAN indicated that this collaboration is expected to ensure a reduction in fuel prices and eliminate petrol shortages across the country during the festive season.

"This initiative is a result of the diligent work by the PETROAN distribution technical committee, which is responsible for planning and executing the zero-fuel scarcity strategy. We are pleased that Nigerians will be able to travel without hindrance during this time of year," the statement read.

On December 2, 2024, Dr. Billy Gillis-Harry led PETROAN's negotiation team in a successful strategic business meeting with Dangote Refinery's management at their Lagos facility.

The agreement with Dangote Refinery was the result of effective buyer-seller negotiations that took place during this strategic meeting.

Dr. Gillis-Harry praised Mr. Devakumar V. G. Edwin, the Vice President of the Dangote Group and Managing Director of Dangote Refinery, for his collaboration and the strategies implemented to ensure the availability of petroleum products for all Nigerians during the holiday season and beyond.

PETROAN expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the meeting, which included the establishment of seller/buyer relationships, monthly volume reservations for PETROAN, payment arrangements, and favorable pricing terms.
