Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff announced Tuesday that the company has achieved a significant milestone, securing over 1,000 paid contracts for Agentforce, its AI-powered platform for developing virtual agents.

A company event in San Francisco highlighted new features enabling businesses to deploy bots for diverse applications, such as recruitment and customer service, both within the Salesforce platform and integrated with Slack.

Benioff noted that Salesforce has also optimized its internal operations, stating that the company now requires only half the number of employees to address basic customer inquiries. However, he expressed a desire to increase the sales workforce by at least 10%.

Since the introduction of ChatGPT in 2022, numerous companies have experimented with AI, but many have yet to see significant cost savings or revenue growth from these initiatives.

For Benioff, who has recently directed his cloud company’s focus towards agents, "digital labor" is set to enhance human capabilities and drive economic growth. Looking ahead, Salesforce plans to launch a "robot force partner program" aimed at linking physical machines with virtual counterparts, as he informed reporters.

He highlighted the hospitality industry as a case in point, suggesting that hotel chains could utilize a multitude of specialized digital assistants for both back-office and front-office tasks, while robots could manage housekeeping duties.

Salesforce co-founder and Time magazine owner, Mr. Benioff, expressed optimism that President-elect Trump's administration will collaborate with chief executives on the topic of digital workforce issues. Mr. Trump was recently featured on the cover of Time magazine as its "Person of the Year."

Regarding a potential contribution to President-elect Trump's inaugural fund, Mr. Benioff stated, "I believe our contribution was the photograph itself. He may utilize the Time cover free of charge."
