Renowned Afro-Juju artist, Sir Shina Peters, revealed that he was ordained as a Bishop due to his significant contributions in winning souls for Christ through the incorporation of hymns in his music.

He stated that this divine calling led to his ordination at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God in 2021.

The musician received his ordination from a Cherubim and Seraphim Church located in the Iju area of Lagos State. In a recent interview in Lagos, Peters shared that the church's leadership received a divine message regarding his ordination. He noted that this revelation came years prior to his acceptance of the role.

He explained, “The Almighty God instructed that I should be appointed as the first bishop in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God. This message was conveyed to the church leaders.” He emphasized that his consistent use of hymns in his music and performances has played a crucial role in his ability to win many souls for Christ.

“My music is deeply rooted in hymns,” he added. “I initially tried to avoid the ordination, but eventually, God made it clear that I could not escape this calling.”

Reflecting on his career, Peters expressed gratitude for his journey and acknowledged God's guidance throughout the years.

“I feel fulfilled and content. My only request to my Creator now is for greater understanding of His word and the grace to draw closer to Him. I have no other desires than to continue expressing my gratitude for my accomplishments, all by His grace. When I reflect on those who began this journey with me and are no longer here, I remain thankful to my Creator.

As for what his fans can anticipate, he hinted, “They should prepare for something extraordinary coming soon.”
