Actress Tonto Dikeh has denounced the body shaming of women prevalent on social media, highlighting the hypocrisy of those who mock women's appearances, particularly those altered naturally through childbirth.

In a recent post on Instagram, Dikeh encouraged individuals to engage in self-reflection and cultivate empathy, emphasizing the sacrifices and changes that women, especially mothers, experience throughout their lives.

Voicing her discontent, the actress characterized the ongoing issue of body shaming in 2024 as “unsophisticated” and advocated for increased understanding and respect for the experiences of women.

She wrote: “This statement highlights the hypocrisy of men/women who body-shame women, especially those whose physical changes result from natural processes like childbirth. It calls for self-reflection and empathy, reminding them to consider the sacrifices and transformations women, including their mothers, often go through in life. Body shaming in 2024???? That’s quite unsophisticated”.
