Pascal Okechukwu, a Nigerian socialite also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has responded to allegations made by Hellen Mutimu, who claims to be his Kenyan baby mama.

Hellen's accusations came to light on January 5 during a social media spat between Chief Priest and Nigerian artist Burna Boy. The 31-year-old claimed that Cubana Chief Priest had left her and their child in the lurch, making her homeless since 2023 after he supposedly blocked her on social media.

The situation gained momentum when Burna Boy stepped in to offer Hellen help for her child, a place to stay, and a job in Nigeria. Since then, she’s been posting proof of their relationship and financial exchanges online to back up her story.

Cubana responds

On Saturday, Cubana Chief Priest shot down claims that he abandoned any child, stating that kids are blessings from God and he would never neglect his own, especially with his financial means.

He shared that after Hellen alleged she had his child, he invited her to Nigeria, but she turned it down, asking for money first to cover the baby's needs and hospital expenses. Cubana Chief Priest maintained that he had no prior relationship with her and called her claims unfounded.

The 43-year-old took to his Instagram story, saying, “God forbid I would have a child and just walk away. You say you had a baby with a rich guy, and now you’re trying to drag him into this. I told you to come to Nigeria, but you insisted I send money first, claiming the baby is hungry and the hospital bills are too much, even saying you took out a loan. I didn’t send you to the hospital.

“I don’t even know you; there’s no connection whatsoever. Children are gifts from God, and I cannot abandon my child despite all the wealth I have. God will never forgive me if I abandon a child just because of child support, especially a child who could become the next Ronaldo. She only spoke out because she got excited over the $30,000 fun, and then they used it to create more drama.”

Background

This isn’t the first time Hellen has accused Cubana Chief Priest of being the father of her child. In 2023, the Kenyan hairdresser made similar allegations, which Chief Priest labeled as blackmail, even suggesting a DNA test to clear things up. He argued that he’s wealthy enough to support as many kids as he wants if he were to have affairs.

Married to Angel Okechukwu and a dad to two boys, Cubana called the allegations a lame attempt at blackmail. He dared bloggers to pay for a DNA test, promising to cover the costs if the kid turned out to be his. The 43-year-old nightlife mogul slammed bloggers as “agents of destruction going after successful people” but insisted that his marriage is still going strong.

In an interview on January 6 with content creator Lucky Udu, this publication reported that Hellen purportedly encountered Chief Priest in Lagos at a friend's wedding in April 2022. She claimed that their relationship became intimate, resulting in her pregnancy. Hellen stated that although Cubana initially offered assistance, he subsequently blocked her on all communication platforms after suggesting she return to Kenya.

She disclosed that her pregnancy forced her to shut down her salon business due to financial difficulties. Despite her attempts to reach out to him, she asserted that he only provided her with N300,000 in small payments and refused to acknowledge his responsibility for the child. Hellen emphasized that her intention was not to tarnish Cubana Chief Priest’s image but rather to ensure a better future for their child.

Burna Boy financial assistance

On Friday, tensions heightened when Hellen’s attorney friend, Black Cinderella, accused Burna Boy’s associates, Abu Salami and Lucky Udu, of soliciting personal and financial favors from Hellen prior to honoring the artist’s commitments.

The alleged mother of Cubana’s child supported these allegations, claiming that the Afrobeats star’s representatives pressured her to falsely express gratitude to the artist for his assistance, demanded a portion of the funds, and that Udu reportedly sought both personal and sexual favors.

In a video shared on her Instagram account, she recounted her experience. “Good evening, Nigerians. I want to clear the air. Lucky Udu and Abu Salami forced me to say that Burna Boy had helped me out. Burna Boy gave them N30 million to send to me so I could give my baby a good education,” the 31-year-old stated.

She added, “Secondly, Lucky Udu told me I should stay in his house when I come to Nigeria because he likes me. He also wanted some money from me after everything was done. He told me my baby daddy’s brother gave him N2 million and even sent me a screenshot of the $30,000 Burna Boy gave him. I’m begging Nigerians; I’m on my knees; please, I need your help. I haven’t received any money from Lucky Udu and Abu Salami. The only money I’ve received is just $350. Please, Nigerians, I’m begging you; I need your help.”

Udu organized a meeting between Burna Boy and Bethel Okechukwu, who claims to be associated with socialite Cubana Chief Priest. During this encounter, Okechukwu allegedly received $30,000 from Burna Boy, coinciding with the singer's ongoing dispute with a nightlife figure.

In response to these events, Cubana Chief Priest condemned Burna Boy, alleging that the singer was trying to incite him by involving his family financially and facilitating Hellen's association with Udu.
