Elon Musk's dad recently mentioned that his son, the billionaire entrepreneur, is interested in purchasing the English soccer team Liverpool.

Currently, Liverpool is owned by Fenway Sports Group, which hasn't shown any intention to sell but has welcomed outside investments before.

In a chat with Times Radio, Errol Musk confirmed that Elon has his eye on the six-time European Cup winners.

“Oh yes, but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it,” Errol Musk said. “He would like to, yes, obviously, anybody would want to. So would I.”

He also said: “I can’t comment on that. They’ll raise the price.”

Back in September 2023, FSG sold a minority share to the U.S. investment firm Dynasty Equity.

FSG president Mike Gordon stated, “Our long-term commitment to Liverpool remains as strong as ever. We have always said that if there is an investment partner that is right for Liverpool then we would pursue the opportunity to help ensure the club’s long-term financial resiliency and future growth.”

Under FSG’s ownership, Liverpool has made a strong comeback in European football, clinching their first English league title in 30 years in 2020, just a year after winning the Champions League.

Errol also mentioned that they have family ties in Liverpool and that they were lucky to know several Beatles since they grew up together.

Liverpool is currently leading in both the Premier League and Champions League this season, but they haven’t commented on the situation yet.

On another note, Elon Musk has been getting involved in British politics since the Labour Party took power in July. He’s been using his platform, X, to push for a new election.

Recently, Starmer criticized the “lies and misinformation” he claims are threatening British democracy, responding to Musk’s ongoing attacks on his government.
