JAMB has announced that it won't be approving admissions for students looking to join the Law program at certain universities for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) clarified that they won't be handling admissions for the law program at specific universities where the Council of Legal Education (CLE) has put a hold on the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) program for that academic session.

This information was shared in a statement by JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, on Wednesday, which was also provided to Channels Television.

He mentioned that no admissions will be granted for candidates wanting to enroll in the Law program at these affected universities.

Additionally, Benjamin noted that the restriction on registration for the Law program at the Nigerian Police Academy will carry over into the 2026/2027 academic year.

“Please note that the suspension of the Law programme at the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, will last for two academic sessions: specifically, the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions,” the statement said.
