The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited kicked off the launch of five Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) mini-plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, on Thursday.

The new mini-plants include PRIME LNG, NGML/Gasnexus LNG, BUA LNG, Highland LNG, and LNG Arete. They’ll be sourcing their natural gas feedstock from existing pipelines that run right up to Ajaokuta.

The main pipeline feeding these mini-plants is the AKK pipeline, which is part of the Ajaokuta-Kano-Kaduna gas project being developed by the Federal Government.

These facilities aim to provide gas to areas in the country that currently lack any gas infrastructure.
