In response to fan comments during a recent Instagram live session, Kuti expressed his desire to remain uninvolved in the controversy, emphasizing that receiving diamond jewelry from Burna Boy does not imply that he serves as his advisor.
Additionally, he pointed out that Diddy, whom Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of having a questionable relationship with, is the very person who helped to elevate Darlington's profile in the music industry.
“Don’t involve me in Burna Boy and Speed Darlington’s case; just because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser,” Kuti explained. He also noted that Diddy, whom Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of having illicit ties with, was actually responsible for making Speed Darlington popular by reposting his song “Bangdadang,” which garnered significant attention.
“Diddy was even the one who made Speed Darlington popular. He reposted ‘Bangdadang,’ which made the song popular. I’ve done a lot of songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s song,” Kuti stressed.
