PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) announces the launch of its Sustainability Academy.

PwC Nigeria has unveiled its Sustainability Academy, a key initiative within the PwC Nigeria Business School's array of programs.

In a statement, Femi Osinubi, Partner and Leader of Consulting and Risk Services at PwC Nigeria, emphasized that the academy serves as a premier program aimed at providing professionals with the essential knowledge, skills, and resources needed to effectively manage the intricacies of the sustainability sector.

He stated: “Launching our Sustainability Academy is significant for us at PwC Nigeria. In an era where re-skilling and up skilling are critical to achieving sustainability goals. The academy is designed to empower business leaders and professionals with actionable strategies to lead their organisations boldly into the future.

“The timing of this launch could not be more appropriate. Sustainability is no longer just a boardroom topic; it is a core driver of strategy, resilience, and value creation. However, it also comes with challenges—balancing immediate pressures with long-term goals, aligning internal capabilities, and staying ahead of regulatory and market expectations. This is why up skilling is paramount.

“We at PwC have decided to be at the heart of driving the right knowledge rooted in real-world insights, innovative strategies, and harnessing the requisite expertise needed to drive value for organisations through the lens of sustainability.”

Furthermore, PwC Nigeria Partner and Head of ESG, Sustainability, and Climate Change, Marilyn Obaisa-Osula, stated that sustainability has frequently been viewed as a desirable attribute rather than a critical strategic priority. She announced the launch of PwC's Sustainability Academy, designed to address knowledge deficiencies and provide industry leaders with the necessary resources to effectively manage the evolving ESG regulatory landscape.

She emphasized that viewing compliance as a strategic advantage can lead to cost reductions, improved profit margins, enhanced brand value, and ultimately, sustainable revenue growth. By integrating environmental and social responsibility with business objectives, companies can establish themselves as market leaders in this increasingly interconnected global economy.

Partner and PwC Business School Leader Uloma Ojinmah commented that the Sustainability Academy demonstrates the firm's commitment to sustainability, and is one of several academies offered by PwC Nigeria’s Business School.
