Salesforce is set to reduce its workforce by 1,000 positions, according to reports from Bloomberg News.
Salesforce is eliminating over 1,000 positions while concurrently recruiting staff to promote its new artificial intelligence offerings, as reported by Bloomberg News on Monday.
According to the report, affected employees will have the opportunity to apply for other roles within the company, based on information from a source familiar with the situation.
The report did not specify which departments would be impacted by the job cuts.
Salesforce has not yet responded to a request for comment from Reuters.
As of January 31, 2024, the customer relationship management software company reported having 72,682 employees in its annual report.
In December of the previous year, CEO Marc Benioff announced that Salesforce had secured over 1,000 contracts for "Agentforce," its platform designed for developing AI-driven virtual agents.
The Wall Street Journal indicated in January 2024 that Salesforce was laying off approximately 700 employees, while Bloomberg News later reported in July 2024 that an additional 300 jobs were cut.
Salesforce is scheduled to announce its quarterly earnings on February 26.
