Tems wins the award for Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Nigerian artist Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, has snagged the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards. 

She took home the trophy for her track Love Me JeJe, outshining competitors like Tomorrow by Yemi Alade, MMS by Asake featuring Wizkid, Sensational by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and Higher by Burna Boy. 

This is Tems' second Grammy win. 

In 2024, South Africa’s Tyla won the award for her popular song Water in the category's inaugural year. 

Tems had three nominations this year, bringing her total to eight throughout her career. She was also up for Best Global Music Album (Born in the Wild) and Best R&B Song (Burning). 

The 67th Grammy Awards were held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.
