This global observance takes place on March 15, highlighting the challenges faced by consumers.
In Nigeria, the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) organizes the event to foster discussions on consumer-related issues, particularly focusing on the difficulties encountered by consumers in the country.
The theme for this year's event is "A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles," scheduled for March 14, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting at 10 am.
This theme aims to advocate for sustainable living and enhance awareness of consumer rights, making Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan, also the CEO of Kratos Sustainability Consults, a fitting choice for the keynote speaker.
The panel of guest discussants will feature Victoria Uwadoka, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability Lead at Nestle Nigeria, and Bankole Oloruntoba, CEO of Climate Change Nigeria (CIC), along with other experts in sustainability.
Daniel Obi, Chairman of the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, "We are thrilled to have these industry leaders share their knowledge with us. Their perspectives will be crucial in advancing sustainable lifestyles and safeguarding consumer rights."
The event is open to the public, and BJAN encourages all interested parties to participate in the dialogue surrounding sustainable development and consumer rights.
