New Series Explores Marriage, Family, and Spiritual Growth

Illui Productions, the film arm of The Elevation Church, has release its debut project—a new Christian drama series titled The Wives—on July 6. The ten-episode series, positioned as a faith-rooted African drama, promises to blend authentic storytelling with spiritual themes, addressing the complexities of marriage, family, and personal growth in a culturally relevant way.

Directed by Orire Nwani, The Wives is executive produced by Pastors Godman and Bola Akinlabi, global lead pastors of The Elevation Church, alongside Debo Omotunde, the church’s director of global ministry.

Speaking ahead of the premiere, Pastor Godman Akinlabi described the project as more than entertainment—envisioning it as a catalyst for conversation and learning.

“We are thrilled to present The Wives, a series that not only entertains but also educates and inspires,” he said. “Through authentic storytelling, we explore the beauty and challenges of relationships, offering valuable lessons for every stage of life.”

He further announced that the premiere event will be held at the Pistis Conference Centre in Lekki, Lagos, where over 3,000 guests are expected to attend the red-carpet launch.
