Veteran juju musician, Ebenezer Obey, has debunked social media rumours claiming he suffered a stroke and passed away.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the 82-year-old music icon reassured fans that he is alive and in good health, dismissing the speculation as falsehoods aimed at causing unnecessary panic.

“Enemies have come again,” he said with a calm smile. “Stop the rumours. Ebenezer Obey is alive and well. What they have said is lies that came from the kingdom of darkness. I don’t have a stroke. I arrived in London yesterday to look after myself.”

The clarification comes after unverified reports of his ill health circulated online, sparking concerns among his followers.

Following his statement, fans thronged the comment section of the video with messages of relief, prayers, and words of encouragement, celebrating the reassurance of his wellbeing.

Obey, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential juju musicians, has enjoyed a career spanning over six decades and remains a revered cultural figure both at home and abroad.
