First runner-up of Big Brother Naija Season 10, Dede Ashiogwu, has opened up about her experience on the hit reality show, describing it as a life-changing journey that deepened her personal growth and expanded her creative outlook.
Speaking in Guinness Africa’s “The Dip” interview series, Dede recounted her time in the Big Brother house, her evolving relationships with fellow contestants, and the lessons she took from the intense weeks of competition.
The reality star said making it to the final stage felt like a divine reward and a moment of deep gratitude.
“At that time, I actually felt way more grateful than anything,” Dede shared. “I felt blessed. I’d always rooted for the winner, Imisi, so being the first runner-up was a huge thank-you moment to God.”
Dede credited the show for helping her grow emotionally and mentally, saying the experience gave her a new perspective on resilience, teamwork, and self-awareness. Reflecting on her housemates, she described Imisi as the funniest, while naming Jason and Koyin as the most competitive. Laughing, she admitted that she herself was probably the most unpredictable in the group.
She also addressed a viral moment from the show, clarifying her earlier comments referring to Jason, Kola, and Koyin as her “fishes.”
“It was taken out of context,” she explained. “I understand why fans reacted the way they did, but it wasn’t meant the way it came across.”
Looking ahead, Dede revealed that she is working on several creative projects, promising fans “fresh, stylish, and engaging content” that reflects her evolving brand. She hinted at upcoming ventures in fashion and digital media, expressing her excitement about exploring new opportunities and refining her craft.
When asked how Guinness would describe her personality, Dede smiled and replied confidently:
“All smooth, charm, and rich energy.”
With her blend of charisma, authenticity, and ambition, Dede continues to capture the attention of fans and brands alike — proving that life after Big Brother can be just as bold and brilliant as the show itself.
