A new platform, CameraHubs, has intensified efforts to launch what it describes as Africa’s marketplace for cameras, audio equipment, broadcasting gear, and stage lighting, aimed at empowering photographers, filmmakers, and other creatives across the continent.

The official launch is scheduled for December 1, 2025.

Founded by Eugin Joachin, a Nigerian entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in the photographic equipment industry, CameraHubs seeks to bridge long-standing gaps in access, affordability, and authenticity within the creative equipment market.

Joachin said the idea was inspired by years of witnessing African creatives struggle to source genuine, fairly priced equipment.

“I have seen photographers cry after discovering they bought fake gear or couldn’t find exactly what they needed. I have seen churches spend months trying to bring in basic microphones, trusses, stage lights, and other equipment. I’ve also seen middlemen inflate prices unnecessarily,” he said during a media parley in Lagos.

“CameraHubs is the big break Africa’s creatives have been waiting for.”

According to him, the platform’s target users include photographers, cinematographers, content creators, churches, broadcasters, entertainment venues, and event professionals.

“Creatives don’t just need equipment; they need guidance, inspiration, and opportunities to connect,” Joachin explained.

The marketplace will allow buyers to connect directly with distributors, retailers, and manufacturers, offering them the ability to browse multiple stores, compare prices, and choose options that fit their budgets.

Joachin emphasized that CameraHubs is designed to be more than an e-commerce site.

“This is not just another online store,” he said. “It’s a hub where industry players, manufacturers, retailers, and professionals come together in one space. Whether you are a photographer, filmmaker, church, or club owner, you’ll find exactly what you need without stress.”

With its December launch, CameraHubs aims to position itself as a game-changer in Africa’s creative supply chain, promoting transparency, collaboration, and easier access to high-quality production tools.
