Speaking on the Off The Record podcast, Kiddwaya explained that dating women from less privileged backgrounds often becomes complicated once they are introduced to his affluent lifestyle. While they may initially appear humble and appreciative, he said, their attitudes can shift over time as they begin comparing themselves to others and developing expectations for luxury.
“At first, they’re thankful — everything feels new and exciting. But after a few months, they start comparing themselves to others,” he said. “They want the same bags, the same trips, and soon, what was once special becomes expected. The entitlement sets in and sometimes turns into rudeness.”
Kiddwaya noted that such changes in behavior can strain relationships, as entitlement and social pressure begin to replace gratitude. He added that this dynamic has led him to be more intentional about choosing partners who share similar values, mindset, and energy, rather than those drawn primarily to his wealth or lifestyle.
According to him, bringing someone from a lower-income background into his world can create challenges that go beyond material differences — often affecting communication, expectations, and emotional balance.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and outspoken personality, emphasized that his stance is not rooted in class prejudice but in the desire for emotional compatibility and mutual understanding.
