Nigerian socialite and actress May Edochie has shed light on how her relationship with estranged husband and Nollywood actor Yul Edochie began, revealing that their story started long before fame, marriage, and public attention.
Speaking on a recent lifestyle podcast, May recounted that their first meeting took place at a General Certificate Examination (GCE) centre during her early university days — a simple and unexpected setting far removed from the glamour of Nollywood.
According to her, she had just relocated from Lagos to pursue her degree at Enugu State University, while Yul was then a student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
“Way back in school when I went to the East for my university, I’m a bookworm. It’s always been about books for me. We didn’t meet at a party or any glamorous setting, we met at a GCE centre,” she said.
May’s revelation offered fans a glimpse into the humble beginnings of a relationship that would later grow into one of Nollywood’s most talked-about unions. Her story also resonated with many listeners who appreciated her openness and calm reflection amid her ongoing separation from the actor.
