Nigerian singer and Abia State Government official, Martins Okechukwu Justice, popularly known as J Martins, has narrowly escaped death after his car veered off the highway and plunged into a bush along the Enugu–Aba–Port Harcourt Expressway.
The incident occurred on Monday, reportedly caused by a sudden brake failure while the artist was driving. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle lost control at high speed and swerved off the expressway, crashing deep into the surrounding bush.
In a brief statement following the crash, J Martins — who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Tourism and Entertainment — described the experience as terrifying, but expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life.
“It was a terrible experience, but I thank God for saving me from what could have been a tragic end,” he said.
The veteran musician, known for hits like “Good or Bad” and “E No Easy,” confirmed that he emerged from the wreck unhurt, calling his survival nothing short of miraculous.
Fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry have since taken to social media to thank God for his safety and wish him continued recovery from the shocking ordeal.
