Nigerian real estate and investment firm Skyewise Group has dispelled reports linking the recently demolished car lot along the Lekki-Epe Expressway to popular auto influencer Ola of Lagos, affirming that the property belongs solely to the company.

The clarification follows widespread speculation on social media suggesting that the luxury car lot—brought down by Lagos State authorities over the weekend—was owned by the influencer, known for showcasing high-end automobiles online.

In a statement issued to PUNCH Online on Monday, Skyewise Group CEO, Elvis Abuyere, described the demolition of the company’s office as “unfortunate and saddening,” while explaining that the incident was part of a government infrastructure project.

“This unfortunate incident affected several car lots along the Lekki Expressway, starting from Phase 1, where the Skyewise Group office was located,” Abuyere said.

According to him, the demolition was carried out as part of efforts by the Lagos State Government to create access routes for a new waterway development initiative.

Abuyere clarified that while Ola of Lagos had leased a section of the property for car hire operations and luxury car displays used in his content creation, ownership of the demolished structure rests entirely with Skyewise Group.

“All necessary building approvals, operational permits, dealership licenses, and environmental levies for the property were duly obtained from the Lagos State Government,” he stated, adding that the firm plans to publish supporting documents soon.

The CEO expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their messages of support and assured that the company is already planning to rebuild a new and improved facility.

“We are deeply saddened by the development but remain optimistic that Skyewise Group will emerge stronger and better in no distant future,” Abuyere concluded.

The demolition, which affected several car dealerships along the busy Lekki-Epe corridor, has sparked widespread debate about urban planning, regulatory enforcement, and compensation for affected businesses in one of Lagos’ most commercially active districts.
