Tesla has announced the recall of 63,619 Cybertrucks to correct a software issue that causes the front parking lights to shine too brightly, potentially impairing the vision of oncoming drivers. The company said on Thursday that it has already issued an over-the-air software update to fix the problem at no cost to owners.

The recall affects Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and October 11, 2025. According to Tesla, the issue was discovered earlier this month during an internal review, after photometric testing confirmed excessive light brightness. The electric vehicle maker emphasized that it has not received any reports of crashes, injuries, or fatalities linked to the defect.

The latest action follows another recall issued on Wednesday involving 12,963 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, prompted by a battery-pack component defect that could cause a loss of propulsion and increase crash risk.

Tesla has been facing growing regulatory scrutiny in the U.S. In early October, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into 2.88 million Tesla vehicles equipped with the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. The probe followed more than 50 reports of traffic-safety violations and multiple crashes allegedly linked to the system.

Despite the recalls and regulatory pressure, Tesla reported record third-quarter revenue on Wednesday, exceeding Wall Street expectations. The strong top-line performance was attributed to a surge in electric vehicle sales, as U.S. buyers rushed to secure a key federal tax credit before it expired last month.

However, profit margins fell short of analyst forecasts, weighed down by higher tariffs, research and development costs, and a continued decline in revenue from regulatory credits—a trend analysts expect to persist following recent legislative changes under the Trump administration.

Tesla shares were down 3.3% in premarket trading on Thursday, though the stock remains up about 9% year-to-date, reflecting investor optimism in the company’s long-term growth prospects despite near-term challenges.
