In a video call on Wednesday with European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic, Wang emphasized that the Dutch government should cancel its September 30 seizure of Nexperia, as well as a Dutch court order last month that removed Chinese firm Wingtech’s control over the Netherlands-based chipmaker.
The Dutch government last week announced a suspension of its seizure of Nexperia, but China has maintained that this partial measure falls short of its call for a full reversal of the intervention.
The dispute highlights ongoing tensions between China and European nations over strategic technology assets, particularly in the semiconductor sector, which is seen as vital to national security and technological competitiveness.
