CITA Energies Secures Triple ISO Certification, Strengthening Commitment to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Responsibility

CITA Energies Limited has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining three international ISO certifications, positioning the company among global standards for quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety.

The achievement was officially celebrated at a ceremony held on Friday at the NIGAV Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, drawing stakeholders from Nigeria’s aviation and energy sectors, regulators, and business leaders.

The company was awarded three globally recognized management system certifications: ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. These certifications underscore CITA Energies’ commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and the welfare of its employees.

Speaking at the event, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Titilayo Olaore, described the certifications as a testament to discipline, accountability, and a deliberate pursuit of operational excellence.

“The journey to these certifications required months of rigorous audits, documentation, verification, and internal reforms across the organisation. We had sleepless nights among auditors and ISO champions, with follow-ups, assignments, cross-checking, and corrections—all while carrying out our daily responsibilities,” she said.

Olaore emphasized that certification is not just about displaying certificates but about embedding standards into the company’s culture. “In many organisations, standards are written into manuals but not internalized. The real question is whether you are accountable to the document on the wall and whether you follow the procedures required to uphold it,” she added.

She highlighted that achieving the certifications involved re-examining internal processes, strengthening governance structures, and institutionalizing consistency, transparency, and operational integrity.

“In an industry where credibility is everything, standards matter, integrity matters, and discipline matters. This certification signals to our regulators, partners, and stakeholders that our commitment to quality, safety, and environmental responsibility is institutional,” Olaore said.

She also stressed that the certifications mark the beginning of a continuous journey, not a final destination. “ISO is not the destination; it is a continuous commitment to improvement, accountability, and operational excellence. What we celebrate today is not just compliance with international standards but the strengthening of an institution that has been in existence for 20 years,” she explained.

Also addressing the event, Managing Consultant of Finsbury Heinz Limited, Jamiu Badmos, commended CITA Energies for its successful placement under the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), a global association of accreditation bodies overseeing conformity assessments for management systems, products, and personnel.
