Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has announced a significant personal and spiritual shift, revealing that she no longer wishes to be addressed as “King Tonto Dikeh,” a title she adopted several years ago as part of her public persona.

The actress made the declaration in a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, describing the decision as an act of obedience to the Holy Spirit and the beginning of a new chapter in her faith journey.

“In obedience to the Holy Spirit, I will no longer be addressed as ‘King Tonto Dikeh.’ You can call me ‘The Woman of God,’ ‘Evangelist Tonto.’ I’m going from a mess to a message,” she said.

Dikeh expressed particular joy that the announcement coincided with the first day of March, which she described as spiritually symbolic. According to her, the timing aligns with what she believes is God’s prophecy concerning her life and marks a transition from her past into a divinely guided future.

“I want to make this declaration, and it gladdens my heart that I can do this on the first day of March. It just aligns with the prophecy of God upon my life, that He is marching me away from everything that is past, and marching me into the prophecies of the new morning,” she stated.

Emphasising that the move goes beyond a mere change of title, the actress said the rebranding reflects spiritual growth, divine direction, and a renewed sense of purpose.

“His joy, His peace and His authority keep aligning with me. As such, I will not be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. You can call me the woman of God. You can call me Lady Evangelist Tonto Dikeh. You can call me Tonto Dikeh, but I will not want to be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. This is the direction of the Holy Spirit,” she added.

Dikeh originally adopted the moniker “King Tonto” as a bold metaphorical expression of strength, authority, and self-empowerment, and it became closely tied to her brand across social media and in entertainment circles. Her latest announcement signals what she describes as a transformation rooted in faith — a journey she characterises as moving “from a mess to a message.”
