Nigeria's drive toward a more digitally connected economy is set to gain fresh momentum as indigenous technology firm ISAT Group unveils a new corporate identity and enters into a major strategic partnership with Afro Mobile ahead of its planned commercial rollout in the third quarter of 2026.

The development signals a significant investment in the country's telecommunications landscape, with both companies positioning themselves to play a leading role in expanding broadband access, strengthening digital infrastructure, and supporting inclusive economic growth.

As part of the partnership, Afro Mobile has acquired a 40 per cent equity stake in ISAT Group, marking a major commitment to the company's long-term vision. In addition, Equiline Finance has structured a $3 billion financing package to fund the nationwide rollout of broadband infrastructure. Industry observers say the transaction ranks among the largest indigenous-led broadband investments in Nigeria's telecommunications sector.

According to a statement released by the company on Tuesday, the unveiling of ISAT Group's new corporate identity reflects its strategic transformation into a digital connectivity provider with a focus on broadband infrastructure, satellite communications, and enterprise technology solutions.

The company said the partnership with Afro Mobile is designed to accelerate broadband deployment across Nigeria, bringing improved internet access to households, businesses, government institutions, and underserved communities. The initiative is also expected to support digital inclusion by bridging connectivity gaps in areas where reliable internet services remain limited.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership, the Chief Executive Officer of ISAT Group, Dr. Adeyanju Binuyo, said the company is focused on delivering infrastructure that will support Nigeria's growing digital ambitions.

“Our vision extends beyond connectivity. We are building the digital infrastructure that will power businesses, connect communities, stimulate innovation and accelerate Nigeria’s digital economy. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to making world-class broadband accessible to every Nigerian,” he said.

Also commenting on the development, the Group Chairman of ISAT Group, Mr. Afolabi Moustapha, described the investment as a strong endorsement of Nigeria's digital future and the country's expanding technology ecosystem.

“This investment is a strong vote of confidence in Nigeria’s digital economy. Together with Afro Mobile, we are building a resilient indigenous broadband platform that will create jobs, drive innovation and support inclusive national development,” he said.

Operations under the new corporate structure are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026. Both ISAT Group and Afro Mobile say they are targeting nationwide broadband expansion that will improve internet connectivity, support businesses, enhance public sector digital services, and help bridge Nigeria's digital access gap.

The partnership aligns with broader efforts to deepen broadband penetration across the country, improve digital access for millions of Nigerians, and strengthen the infrastructure needed to support innovation, entrepreneurship, education, and economic development in the years ahead.
