Coroner links British-Nigerian businessman’s death to pulmonary embolism following cosmetic treatment.
Popular Davido associate and British-Nigerian businessman, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, widely known as Ego, has died after suffering a pulmonary embolism following a penis enlargement procedure in Thailand.
Ego, 43, reportedly underwent the cosmetic procedure in March 2026 while holidaying in Thailand with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.
An inquest at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court heard that 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected into his penis during the procedure at an unnamed clinic, according to TMZ.
The businessman was subsequently staying with his wife at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok when he began experiencing chest pain and reportedly lost consciousness twice.
His wife alerted doctors to the recent cosmetic procedure and the filler injections after he was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital.
Ego reportedly lost consciousness before doctors could carry out a recommended CT scan. Medical staff later determined that he had suffered a pulmonary embolism, a potentially life-threatening condition in which a blood clot or other material blocks a blood vessel supplying the lungs.
Doctors transferred him to intensive care and reportedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for more than 100 minutes in an effort to revive him.
However, Ego died in the early hours of March 6.
Coroner Links Death to Cosmetic Procedure
A postmortem examination conducted in the United Kingdom reportedly found cellular material in Ego’s lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic treatment.
Following the inquest, coroner Jean Harkin ruled that Ego died from a pulmonary embolism caused by complications from the cosmetic procedure.
The circumstances surrounding his death have since drawn attention to the potential risks associated with cosmetic procedures, particularly treatments involving injectable fillers.
Ego was known to a wider audience through his social media presence, where he frequently showcased his wealth and lavish lifestyle on Instagram.
His close association with Nigerian music star Davido and members of the singer’s social circle also made him a familiar figure among Nigerian entertainment followers.
Lavish Farewell in London
Ego was later laid to rest in London in an elaborate funeral ceremony that reflected the extravagant lifestyle for which he was known.
His coffin was reportedly made of gold and valued at more than $745,000, adding another striking detail to a funeral that attracted tributes from prominent figures within Nigeria’s entertainment and social circles.
Davido, who was among those who paid tribute, described the circumstances surrounding Ego’s death as difficult to comprehend.
Speaking at the funeral, the singer said the events “don’t feel real,” describing Ego’s death as “heavy.”
Another prominent figure in Davido’s circle, socialite Cubana Chief Priest, also shared footage from the funeral and paid tribute to the deceased.
In a message accompanying the video, he wrote:

Ego’s death has left friends, associates and members of Nigeria’s entertainment community mourning a figure remembered for his flamboyant personality, close celebrity connections and extravagant lifestyle.
