    Kemi Adetiba's Film "King Of Boys" Sets New Nollywood Record

    Veteran Filmmaker and Producer, Kemi Adetiba, has yet again, delivered a movie that will cause positive ripples across the country, Africa and the world. When she released ‘Wedding Party, the first instalment, many felt she had reached full throttle. However, with the reviews that her latest effort, ‘King of Boys’ is getting, in its first week alone, Kemi Adetiba may well have made another box office break out movie. 

    All the three Nigerian tribes are duly represented as key characters from various parts of the country including iconic actors Sani Mu’azu and Paul Sambo putting in a wonderful performance. The film also has cameo appearances from Jide Kosoko and veteran Yoruba movie actress Lanre Hassan (Iya Awero).
    King of Boys, hits cinemas nationwide on Friday 26th of October, 2018, and fans have been trooping to watch the Nollywood film. 

    The “King of Boys” parades a star-studded cast of some of Nollywood's actors and actresses including Sola Sobowale, Jide Kosoko, Paul Sambo, Adesua Etomi, Toni Tones, Sharon Ooja, Ademola Adedoyin, Lanre Hasan (Iya Awero), Osas Ighodaro, Funlola Aofiyebi, Sani Mu’azu, Paul Sambo as well as break out performances from hip-hop gods Reminisce and ill Bliss.
    Her highly-rated film which she also produced King of Boys in its opening weekend has shattered several Nollywood records. 

    They include:
    •Biggest opening week for a non-comedy Nollywood film
    •Second highest opening week of a Nollywood film in 2018.
    •Second highest opening by a female director

    Since the times of Wedding Party 1 which was directed by her, a few films have generated this amount of buzz. While critics have said that it depicts the political climate in Nigeria, enthusiasts have praised Adetiba’s efforts to improve from the status quo to make Nigerian films get international acclaim.

    Below is the synopsis of the film:
    King of Boys follows the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a businesswoman and philanthropist with a checkered past and a promising political future. She is a pillar of society — loved by many, feared by most, and truly known by a select few. As her political ambitions see her outgrowing the underworld connections responsible for her considerable wealth, she’s drawn into a power struggle that threatens everything she holds dear. To come out of this on top, she will need every ounce of the cunning, ruthlessness, and strategy that took her to the top, as well as the loyalty of those closest to her. But who can she really trust?
