Global superstar to be honoured for career spanning music, visual art and international cultural influence
Global music star Rosalía is set to receive the Billboard Hall of Fame Award at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards, where she will be recognised for a career marked by musical innovation, artistic experimentation and international influence.
The Barcelona-born singer, songwriter and producer will attend the ceremony on October 22 to accept the honour. The event will be broadcast live on Telemundo and Peacock from the James L. Knight Center in Miami.
Rosalía is also a finalist for six awards at this year’s ceremony, adding another distinction to a year in which her influence across Latin and global music has continued to expand.
The Billboard Hall of Fame Award is presented to artists whose careers extend beyond musical performance and whose work has achieved worldwide recognition across genres, languages and cultural boundaries.
According to the organisers, Rosalía is being honoured for “an extraordinary career defined by musical innovation, a singular artistic vision and an influence that has transcended genres, languages and borders.”
Redefining flamenco for a global audience
Rosalía has built a reputation for challenging conventional boundaries by combining traditional musical forms with contemporary production, visual storytelling and an unconventional artistic identity.
Her breakthrough album, El Mal Querer, released in 2018, brought a modern interpretation of flamenco to a new generation of listeners and established the Spanish artist as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music.
Four years later, she expanded that creative approach with Motomami, a project she wrote, performed, recorded and produced.
The album marked Rosalía’s first appearance on the all-genre Billboard 200, where it debuted inside the top 40. It also reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Pop Albums chart, spending 25 weeks at the top between 2022 and 2023.
The success of Motomami also fuelled the Motomami World Tour, further establishing Rosalía as an international touring act.
‘LUX’ expands her musical reach
Her latest album, LUX, released in 2025, has continued that evolution and has been described as her most ambitious project to date.
The album incorporates 13 languages and gave Rosalía her first top-10 debut on the Billboard 200, entering the chart at No. 4.
It also debuted at No. 1 on five Billboard charts — Top Latin Albums, Top Latin Pop Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover and World Albums.
Rosalía subsequently completed the LUX Tour, which comprised 57 sold-out dates, reinforcing the international reach of the album and her growing presence beyond traditional Latin music categories.

Peso Pluma leads the finalists with 17 mentions, followed by Tito Double P with 15 and Fuerza Regida with 12.

Coverage of the star-studded blue carpet will begin at 7 p.m. ET across participating platforms. Tickets for the event are available through Ticketmaster.
