The talented gospel act has just released her debut album entitled, “Ibi Giga” on the stable of Bayowa Films, owned by Gbenga Adewusi.

In this chat with Adeyemi Matthew, the gospel act spoke on how she got into music and other things she is involved in.

When did you go into singing
I've been singing since age 10 back in Nigeria as a choir member of the Saint Paul Catholic Church, Ebute-Metta, Lagos

When did you start professionallyWell, as per professionally, once you are known to be a choir member, I believe you are a professional, that I can say...

What informed your singing gospel songsLike I said, I have been a member of the choir since my early age, though I left Catholic church to C&S Church Movement, Ayo Ni O, and I became a member of the Choir of Iba branch. Later, I rose to the post of choir mistress. I know a lot about music co-ordination and I love doing lots of dancing too. I write songs for my choir, I love anything called music, but it must be Christian music. I've always wanted to come up with a musical school back home for the love I have for music. To cut the story short, I've been inspired to bless the multitudes that are depressed with my little ministration through gospel music.

What inspires you to sing
Actually, I am a talented singer and anointed too, so inspiration comes naturally. Like I said, I sing to win souls for God and my kind of song is not the type that everyone sings, it's spirit filled music. My album is meant for those who in one way or the other are seeking God's favor. Its a prayer musical album...

Does your being in music affect your home
For now, it is very easy, but remember, the home is where the head rests and it must be taken good care of so that you will not have to come back some day and see your self being messed up. In other words, my home comes first in all that I do and with the help of God Almighty, I have been able to put all together.

So now, lets talk about your latest album, how did you come about the concept
The concept of the album, "Ibi Giga” actually came through Inspirations.

How many albums do you have
To my humble credit, this is the 1st

Are you singing gospel for commercial purposeOh no, that is a tricky question, but I must let you know that I am actually singing to win souls for Christ, but at the same time, something good will come out of it.
What can you say about Gospel songs in Nigeria generally
Wow!!! Bet it, gospel music has gone far in Nigeria such that you can't imagine how creative most gospel singers are. Gospel could be rendered in any type of rhythm you know, be it; Apala, Reggae, Fuji, etc...

How do you get inspiration for your songs
Well, most times, I get my inspiration in my dreams and I try so much to work on what I see in the dream, and some times the inspiration comes while I am in the bathroom. I write my songs, but my producer, Bayowa Gbenga Adewusi fanalise the scripts.

Apart from music, what else do you do
I am a communicator, and I am also into nursing.

How was your growing up like
My growing up was pleasant with the help of my precious mom.

When did you join Bayowa Films and Records Int'l
Its been a while.

Why the name Ranti Alore L'America
I am a member of C&S Church and there are some people called Alore, so I belong to this group of people, the L'America part of it is my producer's Idea.

Tell us about your family and academic background
My real name is Ranti Jacobs Adesugba a.k.a Alore L'America born into the family of the late Magistrate Abraham Olufemi Jacobs. I was born into a family of twelve, I guess and I am number eleven. I have very wonderful family members despite the fact that it is a polygamous family. But, from my mom, we are only three and I happen to be number two out of the three. I attended Mount Carmel Convent School, Ebute-Metta for primary education, then I had my secondary education at Wesley Girls Secondary School Yaba, Lagos. I graduated from Lagos State University, LASU School of Communications and I also attended Nigerian Institute of Journalism Ogba, Lagos. I later went to PEFTI for acting career at Wale Adenuga's School. I actually enrolled for a course in presentation, but after the test, I was asked to go in for acting because a good artist will be a good presenter. I really don't know the yardstick used for that. For my nursing career, I attended Prime Career College of Sacramento California USA.
While I was in NIJ, I wrote two articles that were published by one of the evening newspapers then titled; "Ordeals of Orphans" and "Pains of Widowhood." It was actually meant to be a class test, but my lecturer, Baba Adelugba found it very interesting and made sure it was published, that was back in 1997/1998... I have also featured in so many of Wale Adenuga Productions such as Super Story, Binta and Friends, This Life and Papa Ajasco. In fact, there was one popular Papa Ajasco series called Nubia Village. I was the one who composed all the theme music used when Papa Ajasco was to be buried. I was also a Television presenter back in 2005/2006, presenting Mercury Hour on YOTOMI TELEVISION.

Tell us more about your husbandI am happily married to a pilot/pastor. He is a man of God and that's all I can say about him.
