Faith Played A Role In My Career - Ranti, Alore L'America

Ranti Alore L'America is a Nigerian gospel musician and actress based in the United States of America. The multi-talented woman has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. As a successful musician, Ranti believes God has helped her to where she is today, and that Faith has played a significant role in her career. In this chat with Adeyemi Mathew, the beautiful gospel singer speaks on her career and why she wants to help young artistes in Nigeria.

Do you see yourself creating more impact musically both in Nigeria and abroad
I am a goal getter and I believe so much in my ability to affect things positively, so I will tell you that by the grace of God I will definitely impact the entertainment industry at large not just in the musical aspect. Though I know it will take a lot of time and dedication, remember what is worth doing at all is worth doing well. I will use all the ability within my power to help build the entertainment world. Please, don't get me wrong, the industry is doing very well, but progress never ends and I have the ability to add to the progress of the industry.

The music industry is growing gradually in Nigeria, what can be done to hasten the development
Yes, I believe the industry is growing at a very fast pace. But, we need those who are willing to help the up-coming acts, our people are multi talented, the only thing they need is for them to be discovered and packaged like what happens here abroad. There are lots of talents shows here, which is helping the youth as well as the old to build their career. I am in the process of doing something in that line in future only if I see sponsors back home. I will be more than glad to be back home to see to the development of this growing industry. And at the same time help build our dear nation

Talking about excelling in your music career, would you say faith has a role to play
'Faith,' sure, my dear, you can't get anything in life without faith, but I must tell you that hard work is another important thing in any career, life is full of ups and downs and faith carries you along your desire in life. So, back to your question, Faith has a very crucial role to play in my career and all I chose to do in life.

What was the dispute between you and Gbenga Adewusi
Gbenga and I are in good terms, just that we are both far apart and I was not getting to know the way the game is being played back home. Now, I think I know better and we are doing very well. I must say that he is working hard too on my projects and many more things are to come from the stable of Bayowa Music and Film Company..

How did Gbenga Adewusi react to the issue
There was nothing much, like I said, I am just getting to know the deals back home. I must say that we both handled the issue in a professional manner, as well as the way any professional will handle it, and he threw more light on the Nigerian system, which I now understand very well.

What is your relationship with other artistes
I have a very wonderful relationship with every other artist both here and back home. Even those of us in other countries are doing very well, we share ideas and knowledge, its beeen great all the way

What can you say about the belief that some acts sleep with producers and marketers to get publicity or roles in movies
Awesome, this question is one thing that I really don't understand. I am yet to be aware of such things and more so it may be happening to some individuals out there, but how true can that be is what I don't know. Like here in the United States, the producer or the marketer will have to pay the price, because that is illegal and he could be jailed for that. More so, why on earth would someone sleep with a so-called marketer to get his/her job done. I am of the opinion that it's not real or I say it's an illusion.

How do your fans communicate with you
My fans have all the means of communication access to me through telephone, snail mail, e-mail and even sometime we meet on my fan page, where we chat for.

    What keeps you moving
I must say that God keeps me moving, then my family also supports me; both nuclear and extended families, they never for once leave me alone to do it all. They are always there to be of help, my step kids are very supportive, they want me to do it right, they come to the table with huge suggestions and I gladly accept it with love. My extended families too are my motivations, not to talk of the support from my siblings, both morally and otherwise. I appreciate everyone of them for the support, I must say that my fans are not left behind, they too are awesome.

Tell us about your memorable days
The day I accepted Christ and the day I say I do

What and who do you fear most in the industry
'Fear' trust me I fear no one in the industry but I do appreciate and give kudos to lots of them, Antar Laniyan is the man who made me whatever I am today. When it comes to the movie Industry, he is such a strict fellow, but he never condemns anyone, rather he will yell and still ask you to do it. I have worked with him for years and I give him huge tribute. In the music Industry, I will say I admire so many people, one of them is Gbenga Adewusi, but it saddens me that he has not been singing gospel for a while now. Tope Alabi is another musician I love to the depth of my heart, not just because we are kind of related, but because she does it right all the time and preaches the gospel, wins souls for Christ and I must tell you that she is so articulate in her area of music, and if we are to talk about the TV presentation aspect of my life, I will say that I admire this man called Abbey Lanre. Don't get me wrong, he is not a TV presenter, but he is a multi-talented artiste. Behind every presentation, knowledge counts. I also admire the talented actress, Funke Akindele ( Jennifer), Bukky Amos (Arewa) is another artist I admire a lot.
What do you love most in music and movie Industry
The diversity of our culture being played and reviewed is one major thing I appreciate. The way entertainment is progressing in Nigeria and accepted here and there from Nigeria to Cotonou by Tunde Kelani and moving fast to Ghana in the English segment is one thing I love, but I will suggest that some old hands should relax and give the new ones the ability to explore their God-given talent.

Do you have any project in the pipeline
Yes, I am currently working on my next album, Glory-to-Glory and also feature in a movie that is shot here in the States. It's an African movie that will be out soon, it was produced by Araosan.

What role did you play in the Movie
I played the role of a Jamaican American.

How easy was that for you
Very easy, I want you to personally watch out for it.

How do you combine music and movie as a gospel musician
Good question. I once said I am in the entertainment industry, I joined the movie industry about 11 years ago, but I did not get into home video segment that much for a reason best known to me. I was in 'Idajo Olorun' produced by Taiwo Hassan, I was in 'Wild Revenge,' and I later concentrated on soap opera. I started my singing career long before I vent into movies, but I was just too little then. Even the bible tells us that whatever talent you have got, use it appropriately. I am a multi-talented artiste and I will use it as much as God give me the grace and impact it on others. My music and movie careers are meant to be for the goodness of my nature and that of my fans in order to help educate, inform and entertain them.

Tell us the track you like most in your album (Ibi Giga)
Actually I love all the tracks in my album, but I do love the track for mothers, which is track 3.

    How do you unwind
I love to be all alone, traveling and having fun, all alone.

Tell us your source of influence
God is my source of Influence.
