    FAMILY COMPLETES OGUNDE'S MUSICAL WORKS


    The family of the late Chief (Dr.) Hubert Ogunde has completed the musical works of the late doyen of cinematography in Nigeria. The much talked about CD, an all in one box well packaged audio compact disc which has the popular audio of “Yoruba Ronu” on stage in 1969 and movie sound tracks of Aiye, Jaiyesimi, Aropi n tenia, Ayanmo was launched few months ago in an elaborate event in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in partnership with Ogun State Government.
    It would be recalled that the, launch which took place on Tuesday March 30, 2010 had pretty roll call of Ogun State top government functionaries, captains of industries, top politicians, notable actors and actresses, who came in their hundreds to identify with the late Ososa, Ogun State born movie and film maker.
    Speaking at the launch, the Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel acknowledged Hubert Ogunde as a great man, and icon of repute.
    According to Daniel, “Chief Ogunde's music is like the spear of truth that pierces not just the discerning ears, but the heart of a people, jolting them from their perilous slumber and lethargy. His music sends a message of hope and directs one's energy and consciousness towards the real essence of human existence.”
    The recently launched 13 audio compact disc is already doing very well in the market, an indication that the family is now smiling to the bank.
    And to confirm this assertion, we learnt that the teeming fans of this late artistic enigma have been trouping to the major marketers in Lagos and Ogun States to get the package.
    Chief Hubert Ogunde was an entertainer with a mission, and he channeled his artistic prowess towards the liberation of his race from the shackles of oppression and deprivation even at the risk of his own freedom and life.
    The master craftsman, Hubert Ogunde, creatively combined the various art forms of drama, dance, mime, poetry and music to evolve a unique theatrical experience that has become a reference point on the global stage.
