3 African Countries Back Nkonjo-Iweala as Next World Bank president

South Africa, Angola and Nigeria have nominated Nigeria’s finance minister  Ngozi Okojo-Iweala as the possible replacement for outgoing President  Robert Zoellick.
The three African countries, which met in Johannesburg to make the decision, hope Iweala’s tenure will increase the Bank’s focus on developing nations.
"She is the candidate of choice; not just for Africa but for everyone else," South African Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan said.
Meanwhile, Mrs Okojo-Iweala says she is confident of her nomination adding “Why not consider a developing world candidate,"
President Robert Zoellick has announced he will step in June.
