Chairman of telecommunication
giant, Globacom- Otunba Mike Adenuga has barred Lamex Boss, Rasaq Akanni from
doing business with any of his companies.
This decision is traced to
allegations of contract inflations against Rasak, who is a major clearing and
forwarding agent for all the businesses of the billionaire.
Adenuga, who is listed in the
Forbes world rich people, also reportedly sacked his personal assistant, Tunde
Akinyera for complicity in the fraud.
Akinyera and Akanni were said to
have connived in the alleged contract inflation scam.
Informants alleged Dr. Adenuga
stumbled on the peculiar arrangement when a third party was given a portion of
the brief normally handled by the Lamex boss.
Sources divulged a cost reduction
of 75% was discovered in the fee quoted and used to execute the business.
'That means Mr Akanni had
severally inflated his cost by about 75% on jobs done with Glo and other
enterprise of the billionaire,' a source analysed.
This, we learnt made Otunba
Adenuga to review all the works done by Akanni over the years.
The investigations revealed Mr
Tunde Akinyera- the personal assistant to Dr. Mike Adenuga as an accomplice in
the affair.
As a sanction for the betrayal of
trust, the celebrated billionaire reportedly ordered all the management of his
companies to shun business dealings with Rasaq Akanni and his Lamex Enterprise.
He equally mandated the sack of
Akinyera with immediate effect.
