OMOTOLA EKEINDE Joins 'Rival', GENEVIEVE As Actress With Verified Twitter Account

Sultry Nollywood actress, Omotola Ekeinde Jalade on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 joined other Nigerian celebrities with verified account with popular micro-blogging website, Twitter. The sexy mother of four, who is married to a Nigerian pilot, Captain Mathew Ekeinde, was recently reported to be the most popular Nigerian female brand on the internet.

With her twitter account being verified by the social networking site, Omotola has now joined her supposed arch rival in the Nigerian movie industry, Genevieve Nnaji, who earlier got her twitter account verified in May 2012. Omotola has now become the second Nollywood actress to have a verified twitter account.

Celebrities whose twitter accounts were verified before that of Omotola are Brymo, Ice Prince and Dencia. Others include D'Banj, Asa, Nneka, and Osaze Odewinge. Twitters embarked on the verification of the accounts of some of its users, when multiple accounts were opened in the names of some of the users on its platform. Some of these parody accounts are sometimes used to defraud some unsuspecting followers of the public accounts, especially when such an account was yet to be verified by the website. A verified twitter account carries a blue tick on a twitter handle. It shows that the twitter handle is the authentic handle of such user.
