A middle aged man was arrested on Tuesday morning at Tuwani estate in Trans Nzoia County for defiling his 11 year old daughter.
Peter Simiyu was apprehended after his neighbor reported to the area chief when she discovered that the accused has been defiling his daughter.
“I noticed that the girl's walking style had changed and when I squeezed the girl to give more information she revealed that for a long period her farther has been forcing her to have sex with him threatening that he was going to kill her if she revealed the secret,” the neighbor narrated asking for anonymity.
She alleged that the accused had just been released from jail after he was sentenced for stealing a motor cycle belonging to his employer.
She further said that he send away his wife who is a mother of four - two boys and two girls - claiming that she was unfaithful.
“We do not know what really transpired before the wife left, but we understand that the man was complaining that his wife was unfaithful,” she said.
The area chief Beatrice Mukuba confirmed the incident saying that she received a tip off from a woman who alleged that a man who was working as a boda boda operator in Kitale town has been defiling his own daughter.
“After I got the report, I went directly to his home this morning in the company of the administrative police and arrested him as he was preparing to go to work,” she said.
Makuba urged residents to report any incident to the police saying that the girl has been suffering for long in the hands of his father without their knowledge.
The girl was handed over to the children officers before being taken to Kitale district hospital for medication as the accused waits to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
