I Don't Break Traffic Law As An FRSC Celeb Marshal -MR RAW

On Friday, March 8, 2013, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) inducted some Nigerian stars as its Celebrity Marshals. The event was held in Lagos with some top celebrities in attendance. Among those inducted were Mr. Raw, formerly known as Nigga Raw. He spoke with First Weekly Magazine on being a celebrity marshal and how he won't misuse the honour bestowed on him by FRSC.

What does it take to be a Celebrity Marshal
It takes my time and money to serve my fatherland. It is a great job they are doing using celebrities to enlighten and caution people in terms of driving safely because people listen more to celebrities. They are just trying to use us to reduce the recklessness being experienced on our roads every day.

Do you see this as a big pressure on you
It's not a big pressure because we get stuck in traffic only to see that drivers' impatience has caused traffic logjam on the road. To me, anything that will make me use my position to enlighten people is a welcome development. It may be difficult now, but I know that on the long run, it will work.

Would this be an opportunity for you to go against traffic when there is traffic jam
Not at all. Even sometimes when I get late for an appointment and I am held up in traffic, I am usually tempted to pick up my phone to make calls even when it is now against the traffic rules. What I do now is to put it on silent mode and I don't use my phone, while driving. But being a celebrity marshal has taught me to realize that I am not the only road user and that there are many other people on the road as well. I now think safety first. It has really helped me.
