Police have confirmed that about nine people lost their lives as Fulani herdsmen invaded their houses and massacred them in Kushaka village in Shiroro LGA, Niger State.
According to Police those killed were attacked in their houses at about 1.00am while still sleeping.
The Niger state police spokesman ASP Richard Oguche who confirmed the incident explained that the incident happened close to the area between Kaduna and Niger states.
Meanwhile, residents of the villages have called on the police to thoroughly investigate the incident even as they described the village and those killed as peace loving.
Attacks on villages by Fulani herdsmen are rampant in many parts of the Northern Nigeria as several people have met their untimely death in this regard.
