The marriage
crisis brewing between sultry actress, Laide Bakare and her former husband,
Olumide Okunfulire also known as Olu Mighty, has taken a new twist. The latest
is the outburst by Olumide last week.
Olumide claimed
that Laide is still legally married to him. The US-based businessman said that
their marriage has not been legally dissolved by the court. He disclosed further
that Laide used his green card to enter America to deliver the child she said
she had for her new husband.
She (Laide) is
still my wife,” Olumide declared, “we're legally married,” he added. Speaking
further, Olumide said that, “she came to the States to deliver (the baby) using
my surname and my green card.
“It's just
unfortunate she's using all the things I did for her to favour another man. So,
our marriage is intact legally. And if she wants to quit, she must do it
legally.”
The embittered
dude alleged that he is the father of the baby Laide is claiming to have for
her new hubby, Tunde Oriowo. He challenged the actress to bring the baby for a
DNA test to determine the true father of the child.
“If she wants to
proof herself right, I challenge her to bring the baby for DNA test because
that would unveil the true father of the baby,” Olumide said.
He added, “I heard
that my wife was delivered of a baby boy barely two months after she said that
we were divorced, and she's saying that the baby belongs to one Mr. Tunde
Oriowo. That's a lie, wicked lie. I'm the biological father. I have pictures to
show that we were always together, but she deliberately kept the pregnancy out
of my knowledge.”
Olumide then
disclosed that, “I don't want to put laws into my hands. So, I have already
notified my lawyers in the US and contacted my lawyers in Nigeria about the
matter because she has many questions to answer.”
Laide was not
available to speak with First Weekly Magazine on the issue as at press time as
she was still away in America.
