Fuel Subsidy Scam: 2 Suspects Wanted Over N.9bn Claims

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared two persons, accused of defrauding the federal government through bogus oil subsidy claims, wanted.
The suspects are Seun Ogunbambo and Habila Theck, the Managing Director and General Manager, Operations, of Fargo Petroleum and Gas Limited respectively.

Both of them are wanted in connection with a case of conspiracy, forgery and obtaining the sum of N976,653,110.28 from the Petroleum Support Fund (PSF) by false pretence.
A statement by the EFCC acting head, media and publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, in Abuja on Tuesday, said the duo have been standing trial before a Lagos State High Court but disappeared after being released on bail, compelling the court to issue a warrant for their arrest.

The statement added that Ogunbambo is light-complexioned, speaks English and a Yoruba native, while Theck is fluent in English and Hausa languages. Ogunbambo’s last known address is 2 Olamiyuyan Crescent, Ikoyi, Lagos while Theck’s is 89 Buck Field, Yaba, Lagos.

“Anybody having useful information as to their whereabouts  should contact the commission at its Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt and Abuja offices or through the following numbers: 09-4604620,  070-26350721, 070-26350722, 070-26350723, 070-6350724, 070-26350725; or by  e-mail via: info@efccnigeria.org or the nearest Police Station,” the statement added.
