Orange Academy Wall of Fame Brand Award Honours British Council, Others

ORANGE ACADEMY, Nigeria’s 1st practical school of Idea and Brand Management with a core curriculum of Creating and Managing memorable brand experiences through compelling storytelling, has held the 5th edition of its acclaimed Annual Immersion/Graduation and Wall of Fame Brand Award Ceremony. The event which held in the first week of October at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos had in attendance major industry leaders and Brand Communication practitioners.
In a keynote address at the event, APCON Chairman, Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi, lauded Orange Academy for championing the nurturing of talents badly needed to propel the growth and wellbeing of the nation’s marketing communications industry.  According to him, “There is a huge disconnect between what is being taught at the mass communication and marketing faculties in our higher institutions and what today's market realities are. We cannot be more than thankful for schools like Orange Academy who are committed to bridging this gap and have continued to do so by training young and innovative minds”.

Founder of Orange Academy, Kehinde Bademosi, aka Kenny Badmus,  said Orange Academy's mission is to train local hands that will create the next global brands. He revealed that within the last five years, and recently in partnership with CoolBrands House Netherlands, Orange Academy has trained over twenty five thousand young minds either directly or through National Orientation camps and Colleges in the Magic of Commercial Storytelling, which is what is generally referred to as branding.

According to him, “Orange Academy’s Graduates, fondly known as the ORANGE MINDS, are in high demands by companies and brands that require compelling storytelling. Some of the graduates have gone to pioneer the Digital Social Media departments of major ad agencies, while some are creating social reformations through engaging conversations online and offline. Some of these recent graduates include Japheth Omojuwa, a Twitter phenomenon; Tomi Ogunlesi of First Bank Brand Communications; and Bemigho Awala, the 1st winner of Afrinolly Short Film Competition, among many others”.

This year’s event, which also recognized local outstanding Brand Experiences as chosen by the school alumni and faculty, gave Awards to British Council for being a branded intervention making a difference. Also on hand to receive the prestigious Orange Academy’s award was Nigeria’s ace comedian, Lepacious Bose who was crowned as Nigeria’s 1st Lady of Intellectual Comedy.

Present at the event were the President of AAAN, Mrs Bunmi Oke, who also decorated the graduating students; Mr Kayode Oluwasona, MD, Rosabel, Alhaji Kankarfi Bello, the Registrar of APCON; Kanmi Da Sylva, a veteran Creative with Insight; Mrs Tope Jemerigbe, MD DKK and Yomi Omotehinwa, Creative Director of Bates. The event was hosted by Mr Femi Odugbemi and Chisom Ohuaka.
