Nigeria Drops to 37th In FIFA Ranking

African Champions, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, have dropped four places in the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday, July 4.
The Super Eagles, who were earlier ranked 31st (785points) in the world, dropped to 35th (723 points), occupying 5th place on the continent.
The recent ranking can be blamed on the team’s poor performance at the recently-concluded FIFA Confederations Cup, where they failed to make it to the next round, losing to Uruguay and Spain.

European and World champions Spain continue to top the ranking followed by Germany, Colombia and Argentina. While Confederations Cup champions, Brazil had a big jump from 22nd to 9th place.

In Africa, Cote d’Ivoire maintain the first spot followed by Ghana, Mali and Algeria respectively.

Other countries with their highest ranks ever were Bosnia (14th), Peru (19th), Albania (37th), Cape Verde (49th), Dominican Republic (90th), Tajikistan (106th) and Guam (176th).World top 10:
