    Tributes For Johan Cruyff

    Tributes have been flooding in following the passing of Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff, Sky Sports reports.

    Cruyff died aged 68, in Barcelona on Thursday, following a lengthy battle with lung cancer.


    One of the most iconic footballers of all time, Cruyff won countless major honours during his 20-year professional career.

    Cruyff was also a successful manager, winning two Dutch Cups with Ajax, before again making the switch to Barcelona. There, he would win four consecutive league titles between 1991 and 1994.

    Following the news, a number of clubs and organisations have been sharing their tributes to the legendary Cruyff.

    KNVB: It is with great sadness that we’ve learnt of the death of Johan #Cruyff. Words cannot express the loss we feel. #14

    FC Barcelona: We’ll always love you, Johan. Rest in peace.

    La Liga: La Liga mourns the passing of Johan Cruyff and sends its condolences to his relatives and to the Barca family.

    The English FA: We are saddened to hear of Johan Cruyff’s passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

    Bundesliga: The Bundesliga is in mourning with the Dutch football family after the passing of #JohanCruyff.

    AC Milan: A great rival for AC Milan, an idol and mentor to Marco Van Basten: goodbye Johan Cruyff, you will be missed!

    Liverpool FC: Rest in peace, Johan Cruyff.

    Manchester United: Everybody at #mufc is saddened to hear of Johan Cruyff’s passing – he was a true football legend.

    Aston Villa: RIP Johan Cruyff, an innovator and a real football giant.

    West Bromwich Albion: A brilliant football move named after you – now that’s making your mark. RIP the great Johan Cruyff #14

    A vast number of tributes were also incoming from individuals from the football world, including players past and present.
