    Alammieyeseigha Finally Goes Home April 9

    Bayelsa State government has disclosed that the remains of its former governor, Diepreye Solomon Alamieyeseigha, would be laid to rest on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Amassoma. In a statement issued in Yenagoa, the state capital, activities lined up to give the respected late Ijaw leader a befitting burial were revealed.

    According to the statement, the activities will begin on Thursday, April 7, 2016, and end on Sunday, April 10, 2016.In the approved activities signed by Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Gboribiogha John Jonah, who is the Chairman, Central Burial Committee, the burial will start on Thursday with Youth Student activities in Yenagoa by 9am.
    A public lecture on Federalism and Development in Nigeria by Prof G.G. Darah will take place at the Banquet Hall in Yenagoa by 12noon same day.

    While a Night of Songs and Tributes will hold at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre by 5pm later in the day. It was further disclosed that on Friday, a Valedictory State Executive Council Session will be held at the Banquet Hall by 9am, a Christian Wake holds at Amassoma by 6pm. On Saturday, April 9, a Commendation Service holds at Amassoma by 10am, Interment holds by 12noon.
    While Sunday, a Thanksgiving Service will hold at the St Peters Anglican Church in Yenagoa by 10am.

    Alamieyeseigha is survived by Mrs Margearet Alamieyeseigha, his wife; Tonbra, son; Mrs Embeleakpo Abere, daughter; Ebiakpo, son; Seleake, son; grandchildren; brothers; sisters and several other relations.
    The late 62 years old politician and former governor of Bayelsa State died on October 10, 2015 at the University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital during a brief illness.
