Kwoi is located about 240 kilometres south of Kaduna metropolis.
Our correspondent on Thursday sighted some residents who had earlier fled and later returned to the communities evacuating some of their properties.
It was gathered that the action of these residents was triggered by a re-occurrence of another tremor about 24 hours after the initial ones.
A local government worker, Ayuba Nok, who informed our correspondent of another earth tremor on Tuesday night, said many residents of the area were moving out in droves.
Nok said, “The majority had moved out between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday. Those that stayed back were not sure. But now, they are leaving. I can’t remember any of them that I know who is still around.”
Meanwhile, Senator Danjuma Laah (Kaduna South Senatorial Zone) while on a visit to the affected community called for calm amidst tension.
He said he would ensure that geo-physicists from a Federal Government agency were brought to Kwoi to carry out a detailed investigation of the disaster to know the possibility of a re-occurrence.
The senator, who later addressed the residents, said he was in Kwoi for a personal assessment of the situation in the community. He thanked God that no life was lost during the incident.
He said, “I have come here to see for myself this frightening development. It is unimaginable that such a thing happened in southern Kaduna. In the history of our people, not even our grandparents can recall an occurrence like this. But, as people of faith, let us take it as the wonders of the Almighty.
“It is unfortunate that some people lost their homes and some houses were badly cracked. It is, however, a relief that no loss of life or serious injuries were recorded. Please, go about your livelihood calmly and let’s trust God that this is the end of it all.”
