    DSTv October Highlights

    This week on DStvwill be dedicated to some of the scariest and horrific movies ever made!
    Watch these movies if you dare on Studio Universal (Channel 112):
    The Hitcher: A mysterious hitchhiker who is picked up by young couple Jim and Grace, driving through New Mexico to meet their friends for spring break. But when Ryder becomes violent and attacks them both, the couple face a gruelling fight for survival. Tune in on Monday 30 October at 7 pm.

    Resident Evil: Then, Milla Jovovich leads a group of commandos in their battle to contain an outbreak of flesh-eating zombies, after a scientific experiment goes wrong. Don’t miss this action-horror flick on Tuesday 31 October at 7 pm.

    DL Hughley: Reset: If you like your comedy served up raw, tasty and wicked-funny, D.L. Hughley is your kind of stand-up guy. One of the most popular comedians of film, TV and radio unleashes a hilarious display of stand-up comedy genius in this uncut Showtime special.Airs on Friday 27 October at 8:50 pm.

    Gangbé: A brass band from the Republic of Benin sets off on a daring bid to conquer Lagos in Nigeria. On their long journey to the metropolis, the band’s members share adventures that reveal the many sides of this complex continent – the ties that bridge country borders as well as the differences that divide. During encounters with Femi Kuti and the contemporary ideals of Pan-Africanism, the Gangbé Brass Band finds itself immersed in a world of new ideas. Airs on 29 October at 7 pm.

    The Prince of Fame: The police discover the drug planted in Itzel’s car. Treviño falls victim to the poison he was given. Mateo and the Boricuas move in together. Alexis announces Treviño’s death on the radio. Mateo, Rafa and Manara practice together at the studio, and Rafa confronts Mateo for courting Manara. Rafa tells Amado that he has plans for Mateo. Itzel is placed in a cell, and Rafa confesses to her that he planted the drugs in her car Belinda discovers that there is something wrong with her baby. Lucho offers Itzel money in exchange for information on her relationship with Rafa. Tune in weekdays at 7 pm.

    Comedy Central
    Angie Tribeca: Remember The Office, the single-camera series starring Steve Carell and Rashida Jones (she was the receptionist)? Well the award-winning comedians have teamed up again to bring you a laugh-out-loud detective series, which has been described as a small-screen version of The Naked Gun. Executive produced by Steve and his wife Nancy, the show stars Rashida as an LA cop whose team of misfits tackle the city’s most serious cases, from the murder of a ventriloquist to an illegal pet ferret. Look out for guest stars Lisa Kudrow, Jeff Dunham, James Franco and Bill Murray.  Premieres on Wednesday 25 October at 8 pm.

    Elena of Avalor (Premiere): Princess Elena has saved her magical kingdom, Avalor, from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule as its crown princess. Elena's adventures will lead her to understand that her new role requires thoughtfulness, resilience and compassion. Tune in from Monday 23 October at 2:15 pm
