12 outstanding players in Nigeria’s online space have been unveiled as nominees for honours at the maiden Nigerian Online Merit Award, NiOMA, will hold today, at the Main Hall of Lagos Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja. In a statement by its Organising Committee Chairman, Mr. Lanre Alabi, NiOMA identified some of the nominees as Minister for Communications, Adebayo Shittu; Africa’s serial digital entrepreneur, Leo Stan Ekeh and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State.
Others, according to the statement, are Akwa Ibom State, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Zenith, Fidelity and Access Banks, as well as three national dailies, Vanguard, Guardian and Daily Trust. Alabi said: “The event, which starts by 6pm, will be a celebration of some of the key drivers of the Nigerian internet revolution. It will be chaired by former Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, and will witness the unveiling of the all-gloss NIOMA Infotech Trends magazine.”
